Event Facilitator

Sarah Malpartida

Meet Embodied Stories founder, Sarah Malpartida. Sarah grew up as the oldest of six. After her family adopted three siblings from Ukraine in 2005, she developed a passion for working with children. Having seen the effects of trauma first-hand, she wanted families to have the tools to care for children, particularly those from hard places. After earning her B.A. in Psychology with an emphasis in child development, as well as an M.A. in International Development, Sarah was trained as an advanced facilitator in American Bible Society’s Trauma Healing Institute. She then went on to oversee child protection efforts in eleven countries through a Christian missions organization, where she was confronted with the reality of well-intentioned but under-resourced caregivers. As a step to provide evidence-based tools to the field staff, Sarah became a practitioner in Trust-Based Relational Intervention® (TBRI® ) and worked with the Karyn Purvis Institute of Child Development to facilitate training for ten of the eleven field countries. After leaving this position, Sarah served with CareEquip to train families and organization in the TBRI model, and started Embodied Stories in 2023, with the purpose of serving families and organizations seeking evidence-based practices in caring for children.
